She was waiting for something,
she knew it was something that was to happen
only a matter of time
All her friends had already gone,
she was ready to follow them
it was only a matter of time
One by one, they'd been taken by the wind
after a brief flight they'd found themselves
lying on the ground
It was their destiny, they had lived for this:
to keep on living they had to die
Falling! Leaves are falling! Now!
"Death is coming…
Death is trying with all her strength
to pull me away from my branch…
Should I stay or should I go?
What if I stayed here
and tried to keep on living alone?
I know that I can't, and I feel I don't want to…
All right, one more deep breath and then I'll jump!"
Leaving your own branches is a jump
into the empty spaces but if you do it
you'll realise it's a jump into life
This is not death, but it's life,
even if it's suitably camouflaged
Let your fancy unmask reality,
let your eyes see what's behind!
And behind that mask lies your chance
to watch the world with brand new eyes
you'll be never what you are
'till you become what you may be
Food for the new born tree
is the same leaf that now's going to die
and that food will turn itself into the branch,
and then that leaf will be its own father,
