Huge and empty his house, his bed,
and of course, his mouth would frighten
anyone who had the bad luck to cross his way,

In a small house all the creatures of the wood
were dancing...'cause the nymph Philomel
had fallen in love with Howard, the grub, and so
all their little friends had come to celebrate
They were laughing, they were dancing,
when from out of the window...
"Here I am...sorry, if I am late...I know I am an
uninvited guest...but I couldn't miss this party...
Don't run away, you happy people! And so,
you are Howard, the grub...?" He was to eat him!
Philomel, screamin', run till the feet of the ogre
and began to beat him with all her strength
to help the one she loved!

The ogre looked at the little desperate nymph,
and then at Howard, resigned to his destiny, in his hands...
and he thought that he never knew
such a strong love in his life
and he understood that what he was looking for
was only the warmth of someone who cares for you...

So the ogre became Howard's best friend
and the best friend of all the creatures of the wood
He discovered that life could be different
if you've always a shoulder to cry on
And that's how this story ends...
and that's how this story ends!
But I know for sure that gnomes' grandmother too
use to tell fairy tales to their dreaming grandchildren
in which not all the ogres become friends
and so many Howards find so a tragic death..
The chief characters, that's what we are...
